Accelerating adoption and time to value through flexible learning

The Challenge

CyCognito needed a customer education solution that could both accelerate onboarding and support prospective customers during their proof-of-concept evaluations. Customers needed to quickly learn how to use the platform to manage their external attack surface, while prospects in the sales cycle needed hands-on guidance to validate the platform’s value within their own environments.

In addition, the curriculum had to grow and adapt as the product expanded, and the LMS needed to serve as a flexible foundation that could eventually support the company’s full learning ecosystem — customers, partners, and employees.

Project Overview

I designed, developed, and launched a scalable customer education solution that combined a self-paced eLearning curriculum with a fully configured LMS implementation. The program supported both customer onboarding and proof-of-concept evaluations by enabling users to quickly learn and apply the platform within their own environments. The solution accelerated time-to-value by helping customers begin using the platform early in their adoption journey, while providing a modular foundation that could grow alongside the product and evolve into a unified learning ecosystem.

What I Built

eLearning Curriculum

I designed a modular, self-paced curriculum structured around how customers and prospects actually used the platform during onboarding and evaluation.

Curriculum Design

  • Two learning paths comprising 10 total courses
    • Path 1: Getting Started — fast onboarding and core platform fundamentals
    • Path 2: Managing Assets and Issues — applying the platform to proactively manage an external attack surface
  • Courses designed to support both new customers and prospective customers during proof-of-concept evaluations
  • Learning reinforced through recurring characters and real-world scenarios
  • Interactive simulations modeled real platform workflows
  • Guided practice activities with contextual hints to support self-directed learning
  • Modular structure designed for rapid interaction as new features and services were introduced

LMS Implementation

To support the curriculum and future growth, I led the selection, configuration, and rollout of CyCognito’s LMS.

Platform Selection and Configuration

  • Evaluated multiple LMS options under tight budget constraints
  • Selected Moodle Workplace for its flexibility, extensibility, and long-term scalability
  • Customized the learner experience using CSS, HTML, and theme configuration to align with branding and usability goals

Enablement and Automation

  • Built curriculum paths and enrollment workflows aligned to onboarding needs
  • Implemented self-registration using allowed domains, enabling customers to access training immediately with their work email
  • Automatically enrolled learners into the Getting Started curriculum upon registration

The LMS was intentionally designed to evolve beyond customer training and serve as the foundation for a future corporate LMS supporting customers, partners, and employees.
